A Family Commitment To Effective Pest Control

Our roots run deep in the pest control industry. Dick Freye began his career in pest control as a technician and later as a branch manager for Wil-Kil in Madison in the mid 1960s. He established Professional Pest Control in March of 1968. Dick, who was born and raised in Madison, and was graduated from East High, grew the company through a firm commitment to customer service and integrity.

Rick Freye started working for his Dad at PPC when he was 16 years of age in high school, learning the ropes a few nights and on weekends. After Rick graduated high school, he went into the HVAC industry where he worked for about a dozen years. One day Dick came along and asked Rick if he wanted to get involved in the family business. Rick considered the opportunity and left his job with the HVAC firm and joined PPC in 1987 as a service technician with a regular route.

He learned the business from the ground up, grasping fully what customers expected and what they needed. Rick assumed the position of General Manager in 2000 and took over as owner in 2007, and is now in the third year of buying the business from his parents. Today, PPC serves all of South Central Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Dick remains on board as a valued consultant as the company moves into its 4th decade of service.

The Freye family has also been committed to the overall industry itself. Early on in his career, Dick got involved with the Wisconsin Pest Control Association where he served as President on three occasions, and also served as Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at Arms. In 1991 Dick was bestowed a lifetime, honorary WPCA membership. Rick has also been instrumental in serving WPCA — as Treasurer for 12 years and he currently leads the Association as President.

PPC today has 20 pest control technicians — four of them are WPCA certified Master Technicians, and all are state certified by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection.

Our well-trained and experienced technicians are all state certified, and several have achieved Master Technician certification by the Wisconsin Pest Control Association. We will resolve your pest control problem effectively, promptly and with a smile.
